Magic Mondays: Oobleck

I wrote a post a while ago that you can read about non-Newtonian fluids so I’m just going to give you the potion recipe here.

I’m not sure if I’m going to continue magic Mondays on a weekly basis. It might become a monthly thing instead. But you can still download the potions book and muggle guide with eight potions for $5 CA. Before December 26 all the proceeds will be donated to support a local science education program.

Actual Recipe

A white mixture in a container with a finger pressed into the mixture.
Gently sinking my finger into some oobleck
  • Cornstarch
  • Water

Potion

  • Powder of asphodel
  • Water

Directions

Add 1.5-2 cups of powder of asphodel and 1 cup of water to a bowl.

Mix with your hands until the material feels solid enough to scoop off the bottom of the bowl.Try hitting, slapping, or flicking the surface – it should feel like a solid. Then pick it up and watch it run through your fingers like a liquid.
